Okwu is an experienced executive in infrastructure, digital infrastructure, technology, and financial services, specialising in project and structured finance, investments, and portfolio management.
He led GE Capital – Energy Financial Services’ Global Markets group in West Africa, structuring and financing major infrastructure projects, and built GE Global Growth’s Structured & Project Finance group in the region, driving investments across sectors including power, oil & gas, healthcare, rail, aviation, and digital. He also served on the board of Baker Hughes in Nigeria.
Earlier, Okwu held roles with GE Capital in New York across Financial Sponsors, Capital Markets, and Energy Finance, managing commercial lending, leveraged buyouts, M&A, and project finance. His prior experience includes corporate finance positions at Medtronic, ADC Telecommunications (now Tyco International), and Merrill Corporation.
Okwu holds an MBA in Finance, Business Strategy & Management from Cornell University and a BA in Finance & Economics from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota.
