Obiora Okoye is a seasoned African energy and infrastructure investor with over $5 billion deployed across oil & gas, power, and renewables. He is Co-founder and Partner at Blackaion Capital, a Nigeria-based alternative infrastructure firm leveraging technology in sectors including renewables, healthcare, recycling, and e-mobility.
Previously, he led project development and early-stage investments for General Electric in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, and was a Senior Investment Officer at the African Development Bank, structuring transactions across Eastern and Southern Africa. While seconded to USAID, he helped design “Power Africa” and contributed to global energy initiatives such as SEFA, SE4All, and the Clean Technology Fund.
Obiora holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MSc in Energy Finance from the University of Dundee, and a BA in Economics with Accounting & Finance from Oxford Brookes University. He is also a founding board member of the Visiola Foundation, mentoring young African women in STEM.
